Quotation Specialist
The Quotation Specialist will coordinate customer requests with sourcing parts to generate customer quotations. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who responds promptly to customer requests and adheres to MCL quoting guidelines. While prior quoting experience is preferred, a strong sense of urgency and a drive to excel are essential.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Generate Quotes: Prepare comprehensive quotations based on customer drawings and requirements, following MCL quoting guidelines.
- Detailed Pricing: Provide accurate pricing for parts and services, ensuring clarity and completeness.
- Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers to discuss material specifications, confirm details, negotiate pricing, and explore alternative options.
- Contractual and Technical Understanding: Interpret specifications, drawings, and notes to accurately assess requirements and make proper supplier selections. Stay informed about market conditions, supplier performance, and relevant strategies.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Management to ensure the accuracy of quotes and orders.
- Supplier Evaluation: Assist in evaluating and onboarding new suppliers to enhance sourcing capabilities and competitiveness.
- Project Support: Complete special projects and compile reports as required by Management. Provide support to Management as needed.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis to ensure competitive pricing and profitability.
- Performance Metrics: Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to quote accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
- Process Improvement: Support the enhancement of tools and workflows to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the quoting process.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. 1-3 years of quoting experience is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong arithmetic skills, quick and logical thinking, and a sense of urgency. Energetic, ambitious, and driven to improve continuously.
- Work Ethic: Demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond, thrives in a team environment, and is coachable.
- Communication: Exceptional organizational skills with a preference for handling and resolving emails and inquiries promptly. Ability to prioritize and act swiftly on quote requests.
- Mindset: A sales-oriented mindset with a hunger to increase margins, close opportunities, and find creative solutions.
